I have a beautiful sister, Samantha (we call her Sammie), that thinks she's a cat.
My parents are wonderful, a bit over-protective as my Aunt Heather says, but they love me and I have them wrapped around my finger.
Yesterday I hurt my back. I have this awful habit of jumping on and off of my parents bed to chase my ball. My mom has stairs for me to use, but stairs-shmairs - jumping is much more fun.
She might have been right though because I seem to have lost function in my back legs. I saw an ER vet last night, my regular vet today, and I'm going for a third opinion (thanks mom) tomorrow with a surgeon to check out surgical options. They (Dr's and my mom) think I have IVDD or intervertebral disc disease and that I could possibly have a herniated disk at the T10-T11 or T11-T12. Crate rest for 24 hours has not been fun, and I hate staying still for too long so I can't imagine 6-8 weeks!
I haven't been able to use the restroom by myself, but I think it's because my parents are constantly hovering over me watching my every move. I'm going to the bathroom people - leave me alone!
Anyway, my dad is going to sleep with me upstairs tonight so that my mom and my sister can get some rest and spend some quality time together.
